Paedophile club censors own website

I came across this article on twitter today http://www.rnw.nl/english/article/paedophile-club-censors-own-website Martijn is an association of pedophiles who want to legalize sex between adults and minors under the age of consent. This link http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=92b_1337190723
is to a live feed at the Hague. The link displays this statement:
The next 6 weeks the court in Assen leans over a case on whether pedophile association Martijn is a danger to society or just a club where phedopiles share erotic stories on the website and talk about their feelings.

Wednesday three judges heard the pros and cons of a ban of the Public Prosecutor (OM) and the association Martijn.
I found several stories of a petition to force the Martijn organization to dismantle. Which has lead to the Hague investigation. I haven't been able to access their web site http://martijn.org all day.  It has been attacked at least two times since 2010 by anonymous. Martijn was formed in 1982 and in 1994 they were thrown out of the LGBT community for their promotion of pedophilia. I have also read that at least eight of their directors have had charges of child sex offenses since it's inception in 1982. It is good to see that in the Netherlands they are doing something about the movement to normalize pedophilia. Especially since most of the early movement to normalize pedophilia came from the Netherlands. I have found several different articles on this topic and have cut and pasted them at the end of the article below. This way the reader can get a fuller understanding of what has been going on with this organization.

I, in no way feel that by dismantling this pro-pedophile organization will stop pedophilia. I think it will send the message for those trying to normalize pedophilia that this fight will be tougher then they thought. Please take the time to read through these articles. Thanks, Rosie

Child making stop sign

Dutch paedophile association Martijn has removed pictures of naked children from its website in response to “persistent attacks”, a spokesperson for the group says.
Both the Public Prosecutor's Offie and a court in the Netherlands recently decided not to prosecute the organisation, which claims to promote the interests of paedophiles and seeks to legalise paedophilia. On Thursday, however, the Public Prosecutor's Office announced it would ask a civil court to ban and disband the organisation.
The Public Prosecutor argues that Martijn condones and glorifies paedophilia and paedophile sex, something against which both children and parents ought to be protected.

 Freedom of expression
The Public Prosecutor's Office expects to submit its request within three weeks. In the meantime, it says it will continue to prosecute individuals suspected of paedophilia.  Martijn's president, Ad van den Berg, was recently given a prison sentence after having been found guilty of possessing child pornography.
The move comes after the Public Prosecutor's Office carried out an investigation of Martijn lasting several months. The probe led it to conclude that “Martijn manifests itself in such a way as to breach public decency”. In such cases, it argues, the public interest takes precedence over freedom of expression and assembly.
Lanzarote Convention
The announcement came on the same day that ruling Christian Democrat MPs, backed by the small Christian Union party, signalled their intention to put forward a bill to outlaw paedophile clubs. The MPs point out that the Council of Europe Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse, known as the Lanzarote Convention, gives the authorities powers to ban any association when one of its board members is convicted of owning child pornography.
The two parties are calling for the ban to be incorporated in Dutch law. They say eight current and former members of Martijn, some of them board members, have been convicted of paedophile offences.
Security and Justice Minister Ivo Opstelten of the conservative VVD party maintains that the Netherlands, which ratified the Lanzarote Convention in 2010, already observes the treaty.

Ban on Dutch paedophile club ‘impossible’

Published on 13 May 2012 - 1:33pm
The lawyer representing paedophile club Martijn says it is not legally feasible to ban it.
Bart Swier said a judge can only ban a club when crimes have been committed in its name “but the Public Prosecution Service has stated that ... Martijn was never a suspect.”
On Wednesday, the civil court in Assen will consider the Public Prosecution Service’s request to ban and dissolve the club.
The PPS says the way in which Martijn glorifies and justifies paedophilia is unacceptable. Children and their parents should be protected from the club’s activities.
It says that in this case children’s interests should take priority over the freedom of association, which is a fundamental right laid down in the Dutch constitution.

Government submits bill to tighten sex abuse laws

Published on 2 February 2012 - 4:05pm

The Dutch government has introduced a bill which will make sex with a child under 12 punishable as rape.
The two coalition parties argue that, although society regards sexual intercourse with young children as rape, this has not yet been laid down in law.
Current legislation defines sexual intercourse with children as ‘sexual penetration’; an illicit sexual act which carries a lesser sentence than rape.
The bill stipulates that a victim must have been defenceless or unable to say he or she did not want to have sex to prevent any sexual contact between slightly older children being regarded as rape.
The bill has the support of a majority in parliament and of Justice Minister Ivo Opstelten. If adopted, it would also raise the maximum penalty for rape from 12 to 15 years.

The prosecution also has the country lawyer asked for advice whether it is possible the association through the courts to prohibit or dissolve.
But because the individual offenses for which (former) members of Martijn convicted or of which they were suspected, were not committed in the course of activities for the association, that is not possible.

Paedophile lobby chairman jailed for three years for child porn

Tuesday 18 October 2011
The chairman of paedophile lobby group Stichting Martijn has been jailed for three years, six months suspended, for possessing a vast collection of child pornography.
Ad van den Berg, 67, was also given five year's probation because the court said there is a serious risk of him re-offending.
Van den Berg claimed the collection - some 150,000 photographs and 7,500 films - was for research. Some of it featured very young children, the court was told.
Court
Neither Van den Berg nor his lawyer was in court for the verdict. Attendance is not compulsory in the Dutch legal system.
A spokesman for the foundation told the Volkskrant the sentence is 'too ridiculous for words' and said Van den Berg had been harshly treated because he is well known.
The Martijn foundation came under fire in June, when the public prosecution department ruled that there is no reason to ban or prosecute it.

Europe

This led Christian Democrat MP Pieter Omtzigt to ask the Council of Europe to state if it feels the Netherlands is meeting anti-child abuse treaties by not banning group.
'Eight current or former board members of Martijn have been convicted of sex crimes and another is currently being prosecuted,' Omtzigt told ANP at the time. 'The treaty states explicitly that the foundation can be banned.'
